I am so excited to share this new series with you!
Inner Body aims to explore how moving from the inner experience of the body can stimulate and facilitate wellbeing and self-awareness.
To provide you with embodied mindfulness and dance movement therapy practices to support you in increasing your own awareness of your body, learn how to listening to the cues and messages that your body is sharing with you, and overall enhance your relationship with your body.
Over the course of 5 weeks you will experience and learn 5 body-centred mindfulness practices. These practices are body-centred, somatic and mindfulness based in approach. We will use the body, breath, sensory experiences, and movement as a way to stay connect to the present moment, and access wisdom arising from the body.
FLOW OF OUR TIME TOGETHER
Each week there will be a short introduction to the practice, the embodied mindfulness practice itself followed by further exploration of what wisdom has arisen from the embodiment practice through intuitive movement, dance movement therapy, expressive drawing/colouring and journaling. Weaved throughout our time together there will be opportunities to share in the larger group and in dyads. Optional homework will be given at the end of the class to continue practicing and integrating the new skill learned that week.
Week 1 – Introduction to Inner Body Series, Intention Setting and Embodied Mindfulness Foundational Practice
The following questions/ prompts will guide our practices for the remaining 4 weeks:
Week 2 – Embodied wisdom “Confirming what you know through the body”
Week 3 – Self-reflection, discovering how you truly are feeling through the body “How am I today?”
Week 4 – Requesting insight from your body to support you in solving a problem “What’s the right next step?”
Week 5 – “Clearing out” a practice for when you feel overwhelmed and stressed. Resourcing through the body to find more serenity and inner space.
Monday nights Live via zoom 7-9pm EST.
5 part series, no drop-ins.
Starting Monday Nov 21st – Ending on Monday Dec 19th.
If you miss a class, you will have access to the facilitated audio of the embodiment practice, but not of the group share.
