3 practices to foster a deep sense of self-acceptance, and safety within one’s own skin.
In my experience Embodied Self-Compassion is a fundamental practice to coming back to being in a healthier relationship with our body.
What is Embodied Self-Compassion?
embodied self-compassion teaches that self-compassion is an act of kindness and care toward oneself, which involves turning attention inward to the body and emotions with curiosity and acceptance, rather than over-identifying with distressing feelings. Key components include recognizing the body’s “felt sense,” using the body to co-regulate the nervous system, challenging self-critical beliefs, and fostering a deep sense of self-acceptance and safety within one’s own skin.
In this 20 mins audio I share 3 introductory practices to support you in starting to support and strengthen your embodied self-compassion.
What to expect:
We’ll begin with a simple breath practice, including the option for compassionate touch and a soothing affirmation.
Next, we’ll move into a movement prompt, which is my special signature blend of conscious dance meeting dance movement therapy, inviting your body to welcome and bring in self-compassion to where it needs it the most. No experienced is required just an openness to connecting to your body.
And finally, we’ll close with a journaling prompt to help you reflect and integrate.
Between each practice, I’ll share a song connected to the theme of embodied self-compassion. Let the music support your process.
